The game is spinoff from the Koihime†Musō: Doki—Otome Darake no Sangokushi Engi game, which has already been adapted into a television anime series and a video anime. The franchise re-imagines the classic Chinese historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Sangokushi) as a 'moe (fiery), moe (preciously cute) action love comedy' with an almost all-female cast.
